Pay-Less Markets Announces Kick The Fat 5k/10k Virtual Race

Thursday, December 30, 2021- Hagåtña Guam - Pay-Less Markets is proud to announce the Kick the Fat (KTF) 5K/10K Virtual Race! Similar to last year’s race, the virtual format allows runners to run or walk from any location including a treadmill. Runners must complete their 5K or 10K distance of their choice in one single run, jog or walk from February 19th-March 7th.

“For 26 years, the Pay-Less Markets Community Foundation continues to advocate for the health of our island community with the annual Kick the Fat 5k/10k. For the safety of our participants, KTF ’22 will again be a virtual race for the second consecutive year. The t-shirts and giveaways have always been a draw to the event, and this year will be no exception!” says Kathy Calvo, Pay-Less Markets president and chief executive officer.

Early registration begins January 3rd till January 9th with a fee of $20 per participant. From January 10th-30th, the fee will increase to $25. Late registration will be from January 31st to February 11th. The first 1,200 participants to register will receive their finisher packet which will include a Run Guam shirt and reusable bag. All registered runners who submit times will also be entered into a raffle to win tons of prizes including a grand prize of $600 in Pay-Less gift certificates. The race aims to inspire healthy living and an active lifestyle across all ages and fitness levels. It also serves as a reflection of the Pay-Less Community Foundation’s passion for strengthening Guam’s community through donating to various non-profit organizations that champion that mission. This year, KTF registration proceeds will benefit Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association, Harvest House Inc., Knights of Columbus - Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Manelu, Oceanic Ascent Education, Inc., Okkodo Parent-Teacher-Student Association, and Sanctuary Incorporated of Guam.
