Pay-Less Markets Community Foundation to offer Circle of Care Psycho-Oncology Support Program

Monday, March 25, 2024 - Hagatna, Guam Beginning in April 2024, cancer patients living in Guam and members of their support team, including family and friends, are invited to participate in a psycho-oncology support program provided by Pay-Less Markets Community Foundation. All services provided are free of charge.

Services include:

Online Cancer Support Group
A weekly online cancer support group, facilitated by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Iain Twaddle and extension educator Marie Benito, will focus on helping cancer patients cope with the challenges associated with adjusting to cancer, managing cancer symptoms, learning how to access available services, coping with the stress of medical treatment, managing treatment side-effects, and learning to cope with the emotional stress of living with cancer. The group will be held every Tuesday evening at 6:00-8:00 pm on Zoom. To attend the support group, please use the following Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/92672948079.

In-Person Cancer Support Group & Wellness Services
A bi-monthly in-person cancer support group will provide an opportunity for participants to meet face-to-face with facilitators and other participants. Cancer care specialists from the community will provide integrative oncology health and wellness services, including restorative yoga, nutrition education, and art for healing. A nutritional light lunch and snacks will be provided. The in-person group will be held every 1st and 3rd Saturday at 10:00 am-1:00 pm at the Payless Corporate Office, HR Training Room (Building B), 116 W Chalan Santo Papa, Hagatna (across the street from Calvo’s Insurance).

Individual and Family Psycho-Oncology Counseling
Cancer patients and members of their support team can meet with licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Twaddle for individualized support as they go through their cancer journey.
