Circle of Care Cancer Support and Psycho-Oncology Services - Introduces Specialized Support for Women with Cervical, Ovarian, Uterine, Vaginal, or Vulvar Cancer

Circle of Care is now offering specialized support services for women with gynecological cancer including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, or vulvar cancer. Services include:

  • Support group for women with gynecological cancer.
  • Patient navigation services for women with gynecological cancer.
  • Individual and family counseling for women impacted by gynecological cancer.

Circle of Care Services

Cancer patients and survivors living in Guam and members of their support team, including family and friends, are invited to participate in the Circle of Care program, which provides cancer support and psycho-oncology services to the Guam community. The Circle of Care program was established by Pay-Less Community Foundation through a grant from the Guam Cancer Trust Fund. All services are provided free of charge.

Online Cancer Support Group - Tuesdays 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Circle of Care’s weekly online cancer support group is held every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on Zoom. The group is facilitated by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Iain Twaddle, community educator Marie Benito, and clinical psychology associate Dr. Camarin Meno. In the first half of each group session, guest speakers will give presentations on cancer support services available in Guam. March Sessions:

  • March 04 - Guest Speaker: Rosae Shandor, Registered Dietician/Nutritionist (Payless Edu-Kitchen)
  • March 11 - Guest Speaker: Dr. Sylvia Cruz, Obstetrician/Gynecologist (Todu Guam Foundation)
  • March 18 - Guest Speaker: Dr. Ivette Fernandez, Dental Hygienist (Seventh Day Adventist Clinic)
  • March 25 - Guest Speaker: DPHSS – Division of Senior Citizens

*In-Person Cancer Support Group & Wellness Services - Saturdays 9:30 am -1:00 pm
Circle of Care’s in-person cancer support group is held every 1st and 3rd Saturday at 9:30 am-1:00 pm at the Pay-Less Corporate Office, HR Training Room (Building B), 116 W Chålan Santo Papa, Hagåtña (across from Calvo’s Insurance). The group is facilitated by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Iain Twaddle and community educator Marie Benito, as well as cancer care specialists from the community. A nutritional light lunch and snacks will be provided.

March Sessions:

March 01 (9:30 am-1:00 pm):

  • Support Group - Dr. Iain Twaddle and Marie Benito + Special Guest: Elliana Spencer, Harpist
  • Restorative Yoga - Linda Frank, Yoga for Cancer Certified Instructor
  • Art for Healing - Dr. Arlene Diaz, PhD in Education and Art Therapy

March 15 (9:30 am-1:00 pm):

  • Support Group - Dr. Iain Twaddle and Marie Benito
  • Restorative Yoga - Linda Frank, Yoga for Cancer Certified Instructor
  • Nutrition Education - Registered Dietician-Nutritionist (TBA)

Tai Chi & Qi Gong for Cancer Patients, Survivors, and Caregivers
Circle of Care offers Tai Chi and Qi Gong for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers with instructor Tina Cruz every Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 am at Synergy Studio II (436 Marine Corps Drive, next to Dial Rent-to-Own in East Hagåtña). Sessions for this month will be held March 5, 12, 19, and 26.
