FAQs FOR GRANT SEEKERS

Do I have to be a non-profit organization to request for assistance?

What areas do you support and fund? Can you provide some examples?
The four key areas of interest that we support and fund are:

  • Health

Examples of projects relating to health that may be funded through the Foundation’s Community Grants may include a community education and outreach service to young adults at risk for diabetes; a youth program that integrates service learning and healthy lifestyle choices in its after-school activities. The Foundation currently supports the community initiative focusing on the Guam Hospital Development forum that addresses health and health care issues that impact our people.

  • Education

Projects focusing on education may relate to lifelong learning opportunities – from early childhood education to support services for kindergarten through high school students that promote academic achievement to education and work employment training opportunities, generally in community-based settings.

  • Social Services

Projects that focus on improving the quality of life for our people fall into this area of interest. Such supported by the Foundation include initiatives that address prevention of domestic violence, family violence; youth development; family support services; issues and concerns of the elderly; economic development; and other related social issues that impact our island communities.

  • Environment

Beautification projects and recycling are key examples of programs that are supported by the Foundation, particularly in collaboration with other community agencies and organizations.
